Has there been a fallout between Zen developers?

I read there had been some and they went their own way and created a distro called Salix OS.

What does this mean for the future of Zenwalk?

THANKS

Hmm you might want to tell that to the Xubuntu DEV team, because they put it in the Feisty version, I'm sure it's functional, at least to a point, otherwise they wouldn't of installed it in it.

Zenwalk 4.4 didn't make a /dev/cdrom and nothing is listed in /var/log/messages.  :( What's wrong with 4.4 why isn't my cdrom getting setup, I've never had this problem before. cat /var/log/messages | grep ATAPI Apr  2 20:03:55 zenwalk kernel: ata3.00: ATAPI, max UDMA/66 Apr  3 16:17:...

What alternative would you suggest for these 2 programs? For rippers there are: Rip-Off - (Don't know how good) RipperX - (Is it still maintained?) Soundjuicer - (Seems the best of the bunch) K3B - (Rips and would be a better replacement for Graveman) As far as something 100% like streamtuner, I do...

First let me start about by saying I really love Zenwalk you guys are doing a great job, BUT. The Zenwalk team should get rid of these applications and pick something better then these two: Grip -- (Old Outdated and better replacements for rippers) Streamtuner -- (Doesn't Work For Live365 Anymore fo...

If it's in there then please tell us which mirror we are suppose to find it under. ACTUALLY it should be under ...

Well besides the fact there are just GTK1 apps still around, Lontronics you hit the nail on the head.

The smaller window managers I mentioned that people use don't use take advantage of GTK2.

GTK is one of the most fundamental libraries for Linux, and I don't think you'll find to many if any distro right now leaving GTK1 out. GTK 1 is deprecated. Apps that do use it haven't been updated in a long - did I say loooong? - time. How can GTK1 + be crucial? It's not the kernel... No it's not ...

Okay Xgates, when that is true, you are right. I think it is only right to leave it out the default installation when it is available in the repositories. When not, it should be installed as default. Jan Yes no need for it to be in the default install but it should be in the Netpkg GTK to pick, whe...
