- To check if firewall is on:
iptables -L -v

- `192.168.178.30/255.255.255.0' it is IP/netmask; netmask in this case should be the prefix bit-length: `192.168.178.30/24'

I subscribe to the 700MB image. A live system should be light, small. And should be an easy way to transfer it on a USB stick. And no, not to write a DVD and, from it, to put it on USB stick. Newer laptops don't have CD/DVD unit. Or to have linux installed. A tool like unetbootin (or other software ...

Wireshark is perfect now. Even before were just minor annoyances. Thank you for your effort.

Wow. You are so fast. It's working now. There is an error at startup "Lua: Error during loading: [string "/usr/share/wireshark/init.lua"]:45: dofile has been disabled", but it's more like an warning message. I will comment it.
Thanks

I selected en_US during the installation. After that I noticed that my russian, chinese, korean.. songs titles are not displayed correctly. I added ".utf8" in /etc/profile.d/lang.sh. I'm sure the same operation through GUI will give the same result. No other tweaking. Maybe I was just lucky.

Thanks Gerard. Wireshark is fine now. One comment, though. Before a regular user was able to make captures on local interfaces. Now, to do this, I have to run wireshark under root (gksu wireshark in terminal). I will add a new entry in the menu for this.

Should not be "LANG=en_US.utf8"?
It's working fine for me like that.

Installed 7.2. I waited for this since April. Thank you Zenwalk team for this effort. - Boot is very fast. Maybe as twice as it was in 7.0. Impressive. - I removed some applications and installed others. The interface does not seem coherent. Maybe because some applications are built with gtk3 suppor...

Is this feature still not recovered or is just my PC which cannot use it? It's so annoying to blindly navigate through topics.

Most probably you have two processes which have "wget" in their names, running. Try "ps -ef|grep wget" to see what you get. If this is the case, use "pgrep -x wget" to force pgrep to look for the exact process name.

Try X-lite from CounterPath. It's not open, but it's free.

I don't have a USB DSL modem to try, but just some comments for the dial script: - I think that ppp_generic is included into the kernel so you can skip the line "modprobe ppp_generic"; - In standard Zenwalk kernel the option the module BR2684 is not built. Try to rebuild the kernel with : ...

There is a wiki page for upgrading from 6.0 to 6.2 http://wiki.zenwalk.org/index.php?title=How_to_upgrade_Zenwalk_6.0_to_6.2. But if you can make a fresh install it will save you a lot of trouble. 6.2 was not a maintenance release, the changes were quite substantial. Before upgrading check the forum...

If you are still in 6.0 you cannot install/upgrade directly packages from current/snapshot. Since 6.2 release the packages are compress with lzma. So you should upgrade netpkg and pkgtools first. You can still access 6.0 packages choosing an "-old" mirror like http://zenwalk.linuxish.net/i...

Neither CONFIG_ELF_CORE nor CONFIG_IKCONFIG_PROC (/proc/config.gz) are activated by default in the kernel. At least not in ZW5.2. If you did not rebuild or upgrade your kernel you can check in /boot/config: grep -E "CONFIG_ELF_CORE|CONFIG_IKCONFIG_PROC" /boot/config If this is the case you...
