1. The fresh copy has a /boot/vmlinuz and /boot/vmlinuz-huge both pointing to one file. Wonder why. Of course when you have a 32 bit kernel installed by default, but not the case, i guess? normal : it's the way liloconfig works (slackware vanilla) 2. it depends on the size of the hdd :

on a 100GB HDD :
20GB for /
10GB for swap
70GB for /home (the remaining space)

full install takes just 20 minutes.

If you have a dedicated root partition (separate /home partition), it's usually faster than upgrading

just my 2 cents ;)

The main "zenwalk" mirror is configured by default in netpkg : http://download.zenwalk.org/x86_64/current/zenwalk/

The only thing you have to do is copy the ISO image on the USB device :

dd if=zenwalk8.0.ISO of=/dev/some_usb_device bs=1M

then boot the USB device
