If you want to see the output, just read my earlier posts. Everything happened identically to our previous attempts,...

Could you please also try $ locate libxpcom.so $ locate libxpcom.so /usr/lib/icedove-3.0.4/libxpcom.so /usr/lib/icecat/libxpcom.so /...

Learn what? The only thing I'm learning is that zenwalk's software installation system is poorly organized.
Incidentally, I probably don't absolutely need firefox 12. I was running 3.6 before, so something in the 4--11 range might work if it exists.

you want your machine sync'd with ZW 7.0 snapshot. Then why aren't any of the snapshot mirrors labeled "7.0"? http://chronos.iut-bm.univ-fcomte.fr/distributions/zenwalk/i486/snapshot/ trial-and-error should eventually land you somewhere. choose a different mirror until you hit the jackpot...

Also, why aren't we using netpkg anymore, and why are we downloading packages by hand? because you try to use package in zenwalk7.0 that was not built or meant for zenwalk7.0 That doesn't explain why we stopped using netpkg or why we couldn't install from a mirror. Anyway, why didn't that work, and...

Could someone tell me how to install Firefox 12? I had 3.6 installed from the default netpkg mirror, then installed mozilla-firefox-12.0-i486-1.txz from http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/zenwalk/i486/snapshot but none of the X shortcuts to Firefox work, and I got an error message on ...

Everything went well after I cleared the package selections and reselected the one I wanted.
Sorry about wasting so much of your time.
You too, franco. Thanks for the help.
