Hi,

Which is the most up-to-date Snapshot mirror that I can set in Xnetpkg? Thanks for your information.

Regards,

Anand

Well thank you, I was wondering why I wasn't seeing any updates anymore and was stuck with a broken networkmanager. Everything seems to be working again now, but I am wondering why packages sometimes end up in /var/packages/zenwalk/... and sometimes in /var/packages/..., like it was. Rather confusing.

Yes, thanks, I saw that one. It's getting a bit to confusing for me. I think I'll wait for the official Zenwalk ISO and refrain from further updates now while things are all working....

That sounds me smart
It looks like they are trying to have the more slackware pkg
working in zenwalk but from kde to gnome there are always problems.
And as I start thinking that I'm b... the b... I'm going Holidays.
See you next ISO

Hi Franco,
Hope I will stay that smart, but I must say I enjoy solving my mishaps and other surprises. While I was without networkmanager I tried Wicd as I saw you were using it, the upside of this was it shows the wireless changels the neighbours are using, but after boot I had to start it manually everytime. Haven't figured that one out yet, but, oh well, networkmanger is working again.
Well, have a nice holiday,

Blackbird

If you want to use only wicd
and without having to start wicd every time
you will have to walk trough /etc/rc.d
start with rc.services
open whit a text editor
where you find netwokrmanager change to wicd
---------------------------------------------------------
# Start the network control daemon
if [ -x /etc/rc.d/rc.wicd ]; then
. /etc/rc.d/rc.wicd start
fi
sleep 1
---------------------------------------------------
the same for rc.0 and rc.6 and check anyway3 and 4
--------------------------------------
I will save the whole folder rc.d (whit nm)
and the one whit wicd so you can change anytime you want
You can have both installed not running at the same time.
---------------------------
My connection with nm is good. Is my connection that is bad. So when I loose conn. nm gets mad asking passwords - root passwords
Put also my brain, the one of an old man. I never liked automatic cars.

Hi,

Thank you, I will have a try tomorrow when I'm at my desktop machine.
I like learning about linux, and doing things myself and my way, keeps the brain fit (I hope), mine's the one of a not young anymore woman....
But this is getting off-topic...

Again, enjoy your holiday, Blackbird
