When I insert my USB pendrive it mounts fine but with root access only.

Whatever I've looked at and tried, fstab, /etc/udev.conf, /lib/udev/usbmount.sh, I've been completely unsuccessful in changing from root only access.

Surely there must be other Zenwalk 2.8 users out there who use a USB pendrive for backup files without having to log on as root.

Thanks to anyone who has a solution.

I've no idea what was wrong but when all esle fails - reinstall.

I've done this and I now have read and write access for user and group.

I have just checked on my zen.  The problem for you maybe that you are not in the group.

Check out /etc/group to make sure that you are in the 'cdrom' group.  Also do 'ls /dev/sda -al' in terminal to check which group is for sda.  For me it was cdrom and I am in the cdrom group.

Hope this helps.
