Hi all. Can't seem to get off the ground with this distro; I hope someone can help with this. I searched the forum and google, and this seems to be a new, or very rare issue, as I can't find anything on it.

At the partitioning section of the installation, where it asks me to select one of my two physical drives to work with, I select my preferred drive and I get the error: "Bad logical partition: Enlarged logical partition overlap".

But this error hasn't shown up with my other installs of Suse, Puppy and Ubuntu. Also, I ran a Gparted live disc and checked all partitions on that disk, twice. It found no errors at all!

I've tried rerunning the installation three times, and it's always the same error. Any ideas on this one?

That's a really screwball problem. When you say you tried it three times, that's with the same installation media? I'm suspecting a misburned cd. Under the "check your basic assumptions" heading, when you burned your zenwalk cd, did you verify it? Is the md5 of the iso file correct? In your shoes, I'd reburn the Zenwalk cd (maybe even redownload the iso first, if I'm feeling totally paranoid) and try again with the new copy.

I always do a burn verification, and if I download via bittorrent then the ISO is verified there, and then sometimes I will run the media check if the distro offers it on live boot.

I just finished running an md5 check of the disc and it checks out fine. Very strange. Perhaps I'll try downloading from a different source. I'll post back when I have a resolution, hopefully this weekend.

Well, I stil have no idea what is causing it, but I decided to try and work around it, and managed to get it installed.

First, I did download the new 7.0 RC3 iso and got the same error.

So, I used Gparted from another OS to setup my partitions, then booted the Zenwalk disc, and skipped the partitioning section. Everything went fine after that.

You know, I just thought of something. On that drive, the ordering of the partitions is not sequential. I've had a number of different distros on there and in the process, I've managed to mix up the ordering. So, maybe Zenwalk is flagging that as a problem?

I haven't had problems with the ordering at any other time, but that's the only thing I can think of that might be causing the error.
