If numlock installed: removepkg numlockx

If not: have a look in your bios

The change is that numlock is now on by default.
Personally I don't think this is a good idea.
Selfish laptop users like me find this very annoying and probably the same goes for anyone else the has a keyboard where the numeric keypad is integrated within the u through ? keys.

My solution (can't say its the best but it works)

as root
leafpad /etc/X11/gdm/Init/Default
you will find a line [ -x /usr/bin/numlockx ] && numlockx on
change it to [ -x /usr/bin/numlockx ] && numlockx off

worked for me in a number of distro's
