Wak, do you know how to make Thunderbird 3.0 use Firefox for it's browser links? I've done a bit of research and tried a couple things, but no luck on anything yet. When I click on a link in an email, it just doesn't do anything.

Look at this thread: http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/426919-thunderbird-email-links-dont-work.html

I already made the network.protocol-handler thingy on http/s but still a no-go, well until I tried the gconftool trick on the thread. With the gconftool trick, the network.protocol-handler thingy on http/s works :)

OK, the gconftool-2 trick worked for me as well. Links will now open up from Thunderbird! For those wanting the same thing, to reduce reading, here is the trick:
Quote:
Quote:
The following steps are as follows:

Open konsole or xterm and type in the following first line:

Code:

Quote:
gconftool-2 -s /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command '/usr/bin/firefox %s' --type String

Press the [enter] key.

Type in the next line below:

Code:

Quote:
gconftool-2 -s /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/https/command '/usr/bin/firefox %s' --type String

Press the [enter] key again.

Close konsole or xterm and restart Thunderbird.

Now if they get all those add-ons working, it will be cool. I really do like the new 3.0 though, as it's finally added features it's needed for a long time.

Does this package refer to IceWeasel by default (so that it works with Zenwalk)?

Does it include Lightning (the calendar / time damager)?

... Good to see version 3 on its way.

Best regards,
Claus

No Lightning included :( I think the default browser is Firefox, accrding to the thunderbird.diff.

Hi Wakizaki.

I think your package has a fair chance of making it into the ISO, if you just package Lightning with Tbird (at least this is how Tbird has been packaged previously, and Lightning is a must-have anyway :-) ) + make it cooperate with IceWeasel. Are you interested?

/Claus

OK OK - you're right, it is IceDove (Tbird repackaged).

Just a note for the new Thunderbird. The devs of Lightning have updated this addon to work with 3.x now, so for those wanting that, it's available.

Hi Bandipat,

the Lightning.xpi I founded at www.mozilla.org isn't compatible with TB 3.0.1... :(
