I'm still not convinced of the new Amarok...
for those who feel like me, here is an experimental build that installs to /opt/kde3
It has a bunch of patches (not all really checked) - some from debian and others created as needed, eg. ruby19, gcc4, mp4v2 tags.
I had to downgrade autoconf for some reason, docs are left out and annotations to the wiki query (band, album, song... never worked for me!) were removed.
DB's included: ext. sqlite & mysql.
Not yet fixed (rarely used by me anyway): script manager doesn't run from lyrics tab

Thanx til. I'll have to check this out. I've been using the slackware13 kde 3.5.10 build which installs to /opt just for amarok 1.4.10.

I use the kde3-compat libs to keep kde packages at a minimum
