Hi cfuttrup,

I share the same opinion and no matter what, atleast the base OS needs to get stabilised quickly. Due to so much additions and also due to several updates in /a packages its difficult even to run updates and keep system in snapshot. S!

I dont know what team is upto, but the Core team has to look into this matter. :-\

Will all the things currently included in the zenpanel be added to the xfce settings? Because that is a very nice touch.

Xfce is not playing as well with a dual monitor setup as I remember, still works but it only mirrors the screens. I am just going to use my old xorg.conf anyway, so it doesn't matter for me.

My desktop was down (lightning storm and a not-so-good-surge protector) and I am just now trying this out. My "new" desktop installed this in just over 6 minutes!

EDIT: Cool! My Wacom Tablet was automatically configured. That is a first. I wonder if it did configured all aspects of it... I also heard that this version of xfce should be able to configure synaptics touch pads better, my netbook will be getting this next so I will test that out. This version also has eeepc_laptop again, that will be nice!

EDIT: Though this is not a big concern, firestarter has never supported multicasting. It always ignores/blocks multicast connections. Avahi is based on multicasting, and is crippled by firestarter. This has always been a problem since that software has been included on the zenwalk iso. I was hoping firestarter would one day support it, but they still haven't implemented anything.

EDIT: Streamtuner is set to use icecat, so it will not open any webpages with the stock configuration. I wonder if anything else is set up like that... EDIT: Not sure how I missed that it also uses realplay for realplayer streams, which does not exist in zenwalk. But it seems that totem does not work well with realplayer streams on zenwalk, out of the box.

EDIT: Does anyone think that having a "Printing" and "Manage Printing" option in the system menu is redundant? Maybe "Manage Printing" should be changed to something like "Advanced Printing Config." Also, my printer (hp officejet-k60) has never worked with just the hp ppd, I have always had to install HP LIP. I cannot install that now because netpkg wants to update everything, and that causes problems. Trying to install only the missing dependencies didn't work (unless if I missed some). So I do not know if my printer will work.

This post is getting very long...
