Hi,

Please test the RC1, we need bug reports about the new Xorg, and anything that does not work as you expect !

Have fun :)

I confirm for netpkg, and more over, GDM use the wrong keyboard layout ; defined as "fr" in xorg.conf, in Xfce parameters and locale :

Code:
LANG=fr_FR.utf8
LC_CTYPE="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_NUMERIC="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_TIME="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_COLLATE=C
LC_MONETARY="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_MESSAGES="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_PAPER="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_NAME="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_ADDRESS="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_TELEPHONE="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="fr_FR.utf8"
LC_ALL=

GDM use US keyboard layout.

nvidia-glx-new for 2.6.30.2 still missing :'(

We need it for compiz use (

Well, i installed RC1 on my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop to dual boot along with Xp. Hard drive was already partitioned in to three primary partition,

sda1 = ~20 GB with Xp installed
sda2 = 512MB
sda3 = ~18 GB

So I installed ZW6.2 RC on sda3 using all of it for / and sda2 for swap. Choose the default ext4 for the / file system.
Installed without problems, installing grub2 in the MBR. Booted the machine in to the grub 2 boot loader screen and the first thing I noticed is that it did not have a boot option for Window Xp, just for ZW and the Zw recovery. Booting into ZW crashed resulting in this message on the screen:
Code:
 [Linux-bxImage, setup = x2c00 size = 0x1c7b10]
out of range pointer 0xa000a000
Aborted  Press any key to exit

And there you have it, my laptop is unbootable into any OS.

I'v seen things got removed from iso because of less! trouble than grub2 has given now, so I think we should stick with

Lilo (Added)
Grub2 (Removed, not usable atm)

;)

Why not propose on the install :

Keep bootloader currently installed, and edit conf' file.
Install Lilo (recommended)
Install Grub (use at your own risk)

?

@laprjns : Can you check with a LiveCD, kernels packages are installed ? Some reports say kernel packages are missing. If they are not installed, you know what you have to do :p

I don't confirm this bug, here it works as expected (according that you use keyboardconfig and videoconfig)

I confirm the Netpkg bug

I've got it fixed. The answers was to dump grub and install lilo. This is what I did.
    Boot install disk and exit the installer routine
    chroot to the installed ZW6.2RC1
    removepkg grub2
    installpkg lilo (copy the package from currrent repository and put it on a flash drive)
    lilo -v , but got an error message saying that if couldn't open lilo.conf, so
    Booted up Zenlive
    Started up lilofix and added xp on sda1 and ZW6.2RC1 on sda3
    rebooted into a lilo boot screen \!D/ with two boot options Windows and ZW6.2RC1

I am able to boot into both OS after this. \!D/
I agree with stillborn, keep grub2 confined to snapshot until all the bugs are worked out.

edit: oops, I meant RC1, not Beta

Well, I found a solution to make gksu handle the system locale properly :)

1) create an executable script /usr/bin/localize , containing :

Code:
. /etc/profile.d/lang.sh
exec $*

2) move /usr/bin/gksu -> /usr/libexec/gksu

3) create an executable script /usr/bin/gksu , containing :

Code:
exec /usr/libexec/gksu localize $*

It seems to work as expected : please could the maintainer modify the gksu package ?

Cheers
JP

btw : for su to do the same, add . /etc/profile.d/lang.sh into ~/.bashrc
