Thanks for the new Zenwalk, I did a fresh install last week and everything looks good. The only thing I can't seem to find on xnetpkg are the Hunspell/Myspell dictionaries. I use them for Libre Office, Firefox and Kompozer. Luckily I had them still on the precious Zenwalk install.
And I was surprised to see Evince was not on the ISO.
Otherwise, Zenwalk installs and runs smoothly, as always. :)

thanks for the feedback.

these spellcheck libs are available via netpkg : please make sure that Slackware current mirror is always activated.

the zenwalk mirror only provide the "z" serie ;)

Thanks for your reply. I have the slackware64 current mirror activated, but only see the general Hunspell package, not the dictionaries.
Only found Calligra and KDE under localization.
But I'm fine with my old dictionaries, just was wondering why/where they had disappeared from the mirror, or why I don't see them... ;D

Thanks Wang, I've found Evince, I was just wondering why it wasn't part of the ISO, thinking it was an essential program.
What I can't find on the mirrors are the dictionaries, like hunspell-nl. It's not a problem as I still have the ones from a previous install, or could download them from somewhere else, but I was wondering where they had disappeared.

evince is optional since chromium or firefox can display and print pdf as well (and their pdf rendering is faster than evince).

spellchecking in LibreOffice relies on hunspell which is provided in Zenwalk ISO : libreoffice dictionaries are available via netpkg out of the box ( http://alien1.zenwalk.org mirror).

Chromium has native multilingual webservice based spellcheck support

full install takes just 20 minutes.

If you have a dedicated root partition (separate /home partition), it's usually faster than upgrading

just my 2 cents ;)

Unfortunately i do not have a seperate partition for /home. I wish i did had it. This time i shall do it. split the / for home.
5Gigs for /home should be enough, i guess???

it depends on the size of the hdd :

on a 100GB HDD :
20GB for /
10GB for swap
70GB for /home (the remaining space)

At the moment, i have allocated 40 GB for / in that 15+ is already consumed and for /home its just taking 2.5Gb so far in the last 1 year of usage.
Based on that, i shall go for 10 Gb /home and rest for / as apps take up more space and also lots of packages reside on /var/packages which i think is not really useful in a long run.

Anyways, i just noticed the ISO has gone to 1gig. Wow, <800Mb was much nicer ;)
