I install the ISO on a USB 4gb thumb drive but can I use a USB install which has the OS on but install it on another 16gb thumb drive and run off of that 16gb thumb drive? I just want to do it for demo other people what it looks like. I'm going to install on my laptop on Sunday.
EDIT:
Will I built the USB but when done it didn't boot. What can be wrong and it be fix to boot or will I have redo it?

When I install it on the USB I install with all default setting. I want to install it on a Hard but I don't want the same thing to happen.

It been years since I did a full Slackware install and I can't remember how to the boot up part. I'm 68 and just can't remember. I guest no one know or don't want to help me but if you do any help would be great.

I just don't to go back to Mint Linux or Manjaro Linux I have ran both in the past but I like Slackware the best that why I came back. And out of all the Slackware Distro I try Zenwalk was the best as a full install and Live there is other Slackware version

install process is nearly the same as Slackware, just a bit simplified in Zenwalk.

USB media and terse mode install are defaults.

have fun ;)

Maybe I did not understand. I don't know if this can help.
I run maybe in the same problem. Once I was using unetbootin and never had problems.
Now I use a very simple and stupid way.
1-I make an install DVD. That you could use as always to install from.
2-On a USB , fat file and boot flag I copy the DVD, that's all.
3- As you could add, change, delete stuff you can maintain current the USB or
you can with isomaster build a new ISO.
What I mean, to not be misunderstood, I don't copy the ISO but all the files
efi, isolinux, kernels,slackware etc

The only thing you have to do is copy the ISO image on the USB device :

dd if=zenwalk8.0.ISO of=/dev/some_usb_device bs=1M

then boot the USB device

yes
but sometimes doesn't work
It depends of the size of the usb?
And then is fixed, you cannot add or remove nothing, you cannot even read that filesystem.
Whit my way I can keep updating, adding apps, removing apps etc.
having always a current system

What I don't understand in jmdlcar'question is if he want to boot from the usb the installer
or the system.

Well this it boot to a point but here what happen.

Here is the ERROR I got when it bootup "end kernel panic - not syncing: unable to mount root fs unknown block (8,1)" what could be the problem?

Could it be cause I'm trying to use a 16gb thumb drive with 10GB Linux and 4.9GB swap and not a Hard Drive?

I posted a message what I did in "installer" area.

please post in on Slackware forum : this is not Zenwalk specific.

Remember : everything system related and especially the setup : is 100% vanilla Slackware.
