i like it from half way up (i mean the blue part). it's nice.

Yes, the sea/sky part is very nice. The sand part could use some texture I guess and the seagulls are not exactly perfect.

but ... how should I use texture in GIMP ?

Well, maybe I'll have to google some good GIMP tutorials ...

I like this image, these colors. It has a kind of spirit $\D/$
And I like it without any texture, but without the sun too ( or perhaps a blurry one...)
