Canon 550D camera not detected by GThumb on Snapthot.

Hi,

When I connect my Canon 550D camera to the usb port and issue lsusb command I get this message:

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0c45:627b Microdia PC Camera (SN9C201 + OV7660)
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0411:00db BUFFALO INC. (formerly MelCo., Inc.)
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 04a9:31ea Canon, Inc.

But the camera is not available in GThumb to download the images.

I am using up-to-date Snapshot.

in gthumb menu file try import => folder

Hi Gmg,

When I try this, Canon Digital Camera is visible on the left side. But when I click on it, I get the error message:

Could not mount Canon Digital Camera
Error initializing camera: -105: Unknown model

gphoto2 --auto-detect

your camera in PTP mode? your camera works under ubuntu?

Hi Stillborn,

On Ubuntu 11.10 beta2 Shotwell recognizes the camera, imports pictures, and suddenly all pictures except one disappear!

What is PTP mode? Where to set this in the camera?

Aparently, this camera use ptp mode.

finally seem to be supported in libgphoto2-2.4.9

If don't work try with this new package it's compiled with all fedora patch:

Thank you so much for your efforts. After installing this new package I am able to import photos from the camera!!!

pcmanfm, and nautilus, work better than thunar for photo task
