Hi,

I have a HP deskjet 840C and used it in OS X, it prints very well in CUPS.

I installed it in Zenwalk 6.4, and it is detected as 895C, it prints quite well, but the quality is not as good as when it is used in OS X, the driver is almost the same:

ZW 6.4 : Cuteprint V5.2.4, driver name is STP01368.PPD
OS X: cuteprint V5.2.3, driver name is STP01430.PPD

any idea how to improve the quality?

Yes, use the hp driver.

it is here, /usr/share/cups/model/HP/hp-deskjet_840c.ppd.gz

Thanks for the fast response, i found the file and use it.

Result is the same, output from OS X or Windows in the same printer is far better than output from Linux to the same printer.
