"Ive said many times before that I really like the Xfce desktop, and Zenwalk is a particularly good example of it."
I totally agree. Zenwalk does XFCE better than any other distro I have tried. Obviously, anyone can tweak XFCE with various themes and icons and whatever; but the default out of the box Zen-XFCE is the best that I have seen.

"I'd love to see Zenwalk make a netbook-oriented distribution, it could quickly become my favorite...
I totally agree here also. Ever since the Asus eee PC series of netbooks came out, I have always felt that Zenwalk was the ideal distro for netbooks. The fact that Zenwalk is light and fast on low end laptops, and yet still very beginner friendly makes the Zen-netbook a perfect marriage imo. Zenwalk would certainly have been much better than that Xandros based OS that shipped with the original eee PCs.
At the very least, a Zen-netbook edition would be a formidable competitor for Moblin and Ubuntu Netbook Remix.
Zenwalk is proof that linux can be beginner friendly without becoming a bloated resource hogging mess like some of the more propular distros have become.

Hey, I think I just wrote another mini review! ;)

Re: 115 Zenwalk,

I have done a review of Zenwalk and, all going well, it will appear in Monday's edition of DWW.

Which is the actual problem, if you consider it as one. What actually happens is the new user is not actually used to the interface and it takes him a while before he understands it (This is the theory that i have, though i dont see myself how difficult it is to understand the interface given the tooltips). And for him it is not quite easy to use it until he understands it.

Yes :)

Saying that Netpkg is not user-friendly, is similar to a driver who's used to manual gearbox when he first discover automatic gearbox : for him it's not driver friendly !

The same could happen to a Windows user used to a system where any new device needs proprietary drivers to be installed by a Windows wizard : he can't understand that most devices are supported out of the box by the Linux kernel : too simple for him :)

It can be turned around and say you didn't mean Debian per se, but Debian-based more bloated distros was the aim of that comment.
