I tried ZenCore for the first time this morning and I discovered I couldn't connect to the net because I have an ethernet modem (but it's not a "box", no DHCP avaible).

I checked : pppoe package is not included whereas some graphical libs are (like libpng ), which is weird (to my point of view) for a non-graphical distro.

I do suggest so to include as much as possible ways of connecting to the net because this is the purpose of the zenCore.

I replied earlier to your message on the French forum ...

Anyway, in short terms :
- in my mind, ZWC is not designed as a server platform, nor is it made to be a router. Rather it is the starting point of anything you want it to be .... (it's up to you to share what you'll do with it, that's how you can help )
- btw I'll take your proposal into account and probably will be inserting rp-pppoe pkg back in the iso of ZWC 5.0.

You're more than welcome if you're willing to help. Why not begin by testing a zwc system without libpng ? ... and without all the pkgs that sound suspect to you ? I'd be interesting in hearing about such tests ...
Furthermore, you seem to be interested in building a "zwc based router distrib" : why not officially initiate a new project ? (ZenRouter ? ZenConnect ?)
