Hi,

Gerard has left us, so we need to find 3 new maintainers to handle the packages he used to maintain.

We also need somebody to survey the Slackware changelog and submit the Slackware packages (those that we don't rebuild ) in the DEV FIFO.

Please don't wait to take the red pill  <3

We need you  \!D/

Cheers

JP

Which packages did he maintain?

i think he's talking about gmg:

http://wiki.zenwalk.org/index.php?title ... e_List#gmg
http://wiki.zenwalk.org/index.php?title ... ckage_List

this is quite a long list.

Yes, I agree, and no packager should maintain so much packages.

It was a mistake (from me) to allow Gerard to maintain all of these...

That's why we need 3 maintainers, I learn from my errors :)

I use these:

- cmake
- conky
- digikam
- gthumb
- hplip
- hpijs
- links
- lm_sensors

and would be willing:

I know thats not quite 1/3 the list, but I'd also take on some libs from the list too if needed. I'm still new to packaging, but willing.

Also I still have slackware box so wouldn't already watching that changelog. I'd need to know what packages to watch for :)

I could 'take over' clucene; I need it for kde4 anyway.
I already have a buildfile for it; And have already built a
few clucene packages for my kde4 test-builds.

:o ( I am the third person that answers the call... hope that it doesn't mean I have to take the rest of the packages! :D)

I only done some packaging with buildpkg before, after reading some build scripts from gmg I think I'd like to take care of

smplayer
smplayer-themes
flash_plugin
gtkpod
libgpod

I hope I can figure out how to build them with buildpkg ...  ;D

Well..... if you need more than 3, I will be the 4th.  Since I use Jasper to enable webcam function for ayttm, I guess I will take on that.  As no one has claimed any of gerard's ISO packages, I will be willing to take on some. Here is my list of Gerard's packages that I am willing to help with:
- jasper
- gimp
- gphoto2
- libgphoto2
- links

Let me know if this is possible.

I think this has been taken by bioe007  ;)

IMO, considering the amount of packages gmg left behind, more packagers are better...  l!!!

i think we should split this whole thing on more than 3 packagers, or we will run in the same troubles again if one of us leaves. i can take care of

- pcre
- pygtk
- pygobject

for a start and maybe of some more.

To whoever takes on gtkpod, please try to also compile faad2(-dev) so that we can have mp4 support. It requires libmp4v2 to be compiled, but its a bitch to do it by hand. I am trying to solve that issue for me, and will contact whoever builds gtkpod so that I  can give my little bit back :D

DodoFXP, I don't understand. We already have faad2 in the repos. Are you referring to something else?  ???
