I had a T23 until a couple of months ago. Had Zenwalk running on it without problems. I then managed to pick up a T40 for a good price. Nice machine - its got a faster CPU, better wireless support, extra memory and one of the nice new 80 GiB Seagate drives fitted. Works very well with Zenwalk, though I've not yet tried to configure the wireless support - haven't got round to installing the wireless router yet...

I've just had to wipe the drive (I used the IBM restore CDs, then shrank the XP partition to 16 GiB, but made the mistake of using Gparted to do it. That messed up the standard XP geometry and I was getting some strange problems with Zenwalk and XP sharing a FAT32 partition). I've now fixed the geometry and got XP working (as well as it ever does, which isn't saying much..), installed OS/2 again, and now have to install Zenwalk again. Fortunately I've got backups of my /home partition plus a number of things that I'd modified elsewhere, so that should be a reasonably painless exercise.

I like Thinkpads - my first laptop was a 600E (put Slackware on it), followed by a T20, a T23 and now the T40..

I have a T22 with Zenwalk since 1 month. And this T22 is a recent purchase (second hand). With XP destroyed et Zenwalk, it do just like I need...

It's my first post here but I use the french forum : yes, I'm french and my english are very poor, isn't it ? :-[

The number 5 is reserved for the thinkpad of "BillG", I think

For the "6", I don't know

For my T22 : the install was ok and all work fine. Zenwalk + xfce is quicker than mandriva + fluxbox. Since 1 month, my 2 computers use Zenwalk
