Hi everyone

i am looking into buying a new cellphone, but it absolutly needs to be syncable with my Zenwalk Box. it would be best if it was not limited to either Icedoce/Sunbird, Evolution or Kontakt.
It should sync over Bluetooth and maybe offer WLAN.
I'll leave the price range open to see what comes up.

cheers

I have been tracking the Freerunner for a long time now :)
But I kind of get the feeling that they are not getting it to a usable point any time soon.
I need to call and be called, send/receive SMS reliably. I am not 100% if the Freerunner is ready for general usage.

Any other phones from maybe nokia, samsung or else?

sorry, with "for Linux", i did not mean that they have to run Linux, but have to run WITH Linux, meaning all the syncing.

So does Gammu guarantee proper syncronization? I dont want any surprises with not syncing cellphones...
All I need is to sync my calendar and my contacts. if possible both ways...

I received the Neo Freerunner yesterday, and I will test out Zenwalk on it when I get the time:)
It is apparently a sub-par phone however, and more like a handheld computer. Best thing with my work is that I get these gadgets for free. ATM, I'm drooling for a Nokia Internet Tablet.

I'm having a Freerunner for a while now (about 5 months)...and...it's a pain I must say.

It's really slow...very slow... (graphic CPU is not very good, and the the free driver cannot acccess all code of the GPU if I remember well)
Second thing : the battery' life is a bit better than before but you couldn't use it for more than a day withou charging it...
There is some echo for the other person when hearing yourself. The sound is very bad handle...not a good point for a phone !
There are some good applications/ideas...but the developpement is slow and there is no base framework which is stable. It's unstable in all layers (but not the kernel).

The worst idea I think it to use E17 as main Window Manager... It's not finished and it doesn't work well on the phone. The interface is a bit strange to me... but it's just a matter of taste.

Good points : free, features (if there is application which can use it), fun

I read about this in the Linux Journal, if I remember correctly, and that guy installed Red Hat right away which was a lot more stable.
But as I said, it receives sub-standard reviews _as a phone_. We're testing its abilities as a handheld computer.
