Hi,

      I'm going to take a JAVA class in a few weeks.  I really like Zenwalk, but I want to check a few things out before class starts so I'm not stuck setting up my desktop pc with another Linux version after class starts.  I've configged JDK1.6.0_02 to be default on this system.  I verified with

java -version

1)  Do JAVA programs, applets, etc compile and execute  normally (and consistently) on Zenwalk?

2  I'm having a problem with jGrasp.  http://www.jgrasp.org/  When I try to extract the zipped version "for Linux, UNIX, and other systems." (jgrasp.zip),  the paths get all messed up and the program won't load when I click on the executable.  This is the first time I ever remember this happening on Linux.  It's not extracting with the full path.  I've also tried with Xarchiver and checking "extract files with full path", but I get an error message"an error occurred while accessing the archive"  When I "view the command line output, this is what it says...

I just tried from the command line.  jGrasp extracted again, but again without the paths. 

As I remember, the path to execute was either

/home/user/jgrasp/bin/linux/jgrasp

or

/home/user/jgrasp/bin/jgrasp

Just open a terminal where the .zip file is and do

A jgrasp directory is created and you launch jgrasp with "java -jar jgrasp.jar" from that directory.

I tried again as you suggested and it extracted perfectly!

Yesterday, I tried both right-clicking and extracting, and Xarchiver.  Both extracted, but without the paths.  I tried from the command line, but I think I know my error... I think I entered the full path
unzip /home/joegum/jgrasp...

I did it exactly as you said and it worked perfectly.
