Id like to pick a color from a website/image without opening Xara.  Sometimes, I open Settings>Desktop Settings to use the color picker there.  Something simpler?

e.g Enlightenment's elicit

"color selector"!, thats why "color picker" didnt have any hits on the forum search  ::)

@ gapan: This is just the app I was looking for. Thanks for the link.

btw, I vaguely remember having a dock app/panel app(?) color picker before.  I dont remember if it was on XFCE/GNOME/KDE.  It just sits on the dock/panel and outputs RGB and HTML color code (#xxxxxx).  Anyone have this?

Elicit is promising but built on the Enlightenment libs (I have the source if anyone wants it).  I was planning on making something similar and have actually begun the work.  I'm going to try and port Elicit and see how it comes out.  When I have something viable Zenwalkers will be the first that will know about it.

Hi,

The E17 packages that I built are about to hit the main repos. http://support.zenwalk.org/index.php/topic,9093.0.html As soon as they do I will continue building the remaining E-software including elicit. I have all of the sources and buildscripts, I'm just waiting until the core libs and base packages are available via netpkg. Should be a day or two.

:)

Agave generates color schemes: Monochromatic, Triads, Tetrads, and Analogous.

Hey, thanks for informing about this. It's really nice!

And here's the package: http://support.zenwalk.org/index.php/topic,9543.0.html

FYI

I promised elicit earlier. You will get it and then you can choose between it and the ones "gapan" and "ZenPad" mentioned. What's taking me a while is this:

I bundled most of the Enlightenment Libraries into one large 10MB package. That is a good thing if you plan to run Enlightenment. However it is a bad thing if you only wanted to run Elicit. In the case of Elicit you would be downloading lots of libs that you may never need, so I am rebuilding Enlightenment's Libraries into separate packages. This will make it easier for me to maintain and will allow you to only download the E libraries that you really need.

That way you can have Elicit and it's required libs without having to download the entire repository. (Unless you like doing that)

:)

This thread is a few years old, but I recently rewrote elicit as a gtk app. It is available at: http://rephorm.com/code/elicit
