X!! Can I install Zenwalk Core and then install gnome as default? or would that be a waste? (I am open to any recommendations) if so, how would I do that?

Hello YouNix!

The answer is yes, but it will need some work.

First have a look at the zengnome entry in the wiki: http://wiki.zenwalk.org/index.php/HOWTO ... l_ZenGNOME

Gnome is also currently in the testing section to enter the official repos: http://support.zenwalk.org/index.php/topic,9717.0.html

What you want to do will require some repository switching. You'll have to install all required dependencies (xorg etc) from an official mirror with netpkg and then follow the ZenGNOME wiki instructions.

I don't really know in how good are the packages submitted for testing, they should be the same or better than ZenGNOME, I think I'll try them today.

If you're not comfortable with the command line, or aren't sure how to use netpkg, better start with a normal zenwalk installation and take it from there.  :)
