I have installed zenwalk on my new dell inspiron 1525 without any problems. But now, when i try to install big size packages (jdk, openoffice...) xnetpkg crash with the following message:

Code:
root[khaoz]# xnetpkg
/usr/sbin/xnetpkg: line 146:  1083 Aborted                 gtkdialog -i /usr/libexec/xnetpkg-functions --program=MAIN 2>/dev/null 1>&2

root[khaoz]#

Have you tried using the shell to do your install?  I see that you started the gui from the shell to see the error, but have you done "netpkg " from the shell?

^^,
But why should the gtkdialog lib have to fail download those files?

@Author of this thread,

Will the download starts and then after some time will it crash? Or at beginning itself? Also are u sure u r local cache is not corrupted?

Please switch to Netpkg 4.0 (snapshot).

Bugs in the deprecated 3.7.x version won't be fixed

The download starts but after some time xnetpkg just crash. About the cache... well... i need to check this, but it's a fresh install.

Ok, then my first guess would be a missing or corrupted file that the gui uses.  You might want to check the deps to be sure all are satisfied and maybe even to reinstall them to be sure everything is there.

I have the same problem.

xnetpkg starts up just fine, but during the download/install it crashes. i re-installed netpkg, started xnetpkg from terminal, and tried downloading OpenArena as a test. It got to about 1% of the download, then crashed and gave the following error:

Code:
/usr/sbin/xnetpkg: line 146:   553 Aborted                 gtkdialog -i /usr/libexec/xnetpkg-functions --program=MAIN 2>/dev/null 1>&2
Cleaning temporary files and saving meta information

Hope this helps solve whatever problem we all seem to be having.

Please upgrade to Netpkg 4.0 from snapshot. You are using a deprecated version.
