Just thought I'd post this here in case anyone finds it useful. If you have a macbook with a built in camera then this is how to make it work (at least in my case):

1) I think you'll probably want a fresh kernel so, see this link if you don't know what to do: http://wiki.zenwalk.org/index.php?title ... l_Manually

2) When running gconfig, as it says in the above link, go to Device Drivers->USB support->iSight firmware loading support and enable it.

3) After your new kernel is installed and booted go here ( https://launchpad.net/isight-firmware-tools/ ) to get the Apple isight firmware tools. Install them.

4) Then, you'll want to get your isight driver. This is usually found on your mac partition (you have one don't you?) or maybe the install cd. I found mine under /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBVideoSupport.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleUSBVideoSupport

5) With this driver in hand we will extract the firmware using the tools you just installed like so:

su
ift-extract --apple-driver AppleUSBVideoSupport

6) Reboot and you should be good to go.

7) If something doesn't work I may have missed something. Let me know and I'll try to help.

PS. This DOES work with skype so video calls are possible \!D/
