Hi,

If you see some really good tips, please feel free to add them to the Zenwalk wiki. There we can keep them neatly organized where they can be found easily. The site also has search built in as well.

http://wiki.zenwalk.org/

Just register there, log in and you're all set.

:)

Michael

some great howtos would be DRI on the ATI mobility cards and I think i can convert the gentoo howto on mulitmedia keyboards for Zenwalk. A wiki to to help you share the knowledge of what you know..but for a user, wouldnt he be able to use multiple communities based around Slackware?

Gentoo has an amazing support base, and the sheer amount of devs create good solutions.
Ubuntu is getting there as well, aimed like it is for new linux users and by the insane amount of users. The problem with these are sections in howtos and the like that say "apt-get this, emerge that."

Basicly, what is our community aimed at, what kind of user. Another way to ask this, what is our niche?Just thinking.

Hi,

I added this today: http://wiki.zenwalk.org/index.php/ATI_R ... _M3_AGP_2x It shows some easy tweaks that I always do.

:)

I would suggest my HOWTO about wpa_supplicant, because it is security relevant.
And i guess someone would have to sum up the basics about compiling extra drivers (or take the bit from the FAQ) and then link to all the extra cases like the belink, the acx100 etc. drivers.

Shouldn't it be "ifconfig [interface] up" in the wiki, to bring your interface up?

Since we are talking about wireless i think iwconfig [interface] up is correct, but i'll quickly check on my rig.
Thanks for the comment! (it means you actually read it carefully :D)

EDIT: I am very sorry and you were right! I've checked and iwconfig wlan0 up gives out an ERROR. I am correcting the howto right now in the wiki! Thanks.

No problem  ;)
With ifconfig you bring your interface up and down, apply IP address to it..., and with iwconfig you set parameters for your wireless card.

I added this to the wiki. Is it in the right place, and is it OK for me to post it? I did a search and couldn't find anything on the same topic.
