OK, I resisted for a few months, but when I blew up my old desktop I decided to see what was new. I tried Debian, *buntu (straight gnome and xfce versions), Mint, Vector, and a couple of others I don't even remember now. My 'new' machine is an HP 433MHz Celeron with 256MB RAM, and the final choice - as I knew it probably would be - was Zenwalk. I've been using it since v4.2, and there is nothing better.

What I didn't expect was how much I liked the Gnome version, or how well it runs on this old hardware. I expected it to be sluggish, and though it isn't a speed demon I really can't tell much difference between this and the original Xfce version. I now have it on two of my three machines (the lappy still has Xfce only) and am really enjoying the new look.

If it only had a 'right-click for applications menu' I would be in hog heaven. ;D Great job, Gapan!

Not possible at all with gnome alone... You can experiment with openbox or fluxbox as your WM in gnome if you really want it.
