Hello!
Just found this distro recently (for myself). And I'd like to say that with all default installation options and settings distro passed quite difficult test - my old Thinkpad 600e!
I've tested quite many distros before, including latest Ubuntu/Xubuntu, Debian, Puppy, Vector, DSL and something else. Some of distros have detected pcmcia WLAN card, almost nobody detected sound card and NO ONE - sound card and WLAN together!
Good job! Seems that I will stay here, even I have never used Slackware distros before, only Debian based.

Just one question - what is a update policy? Is any update agent available in the system, or everything should be done manually?

There is this
Code:
ZUT - Zen Update Tool, Zenwalk repo update notifier Simple perl-GTK2 script that does some hopefully useful things. It does NOT install anything for you, just an update checker.

but all updates/upgrades are done manually.

Zen is better than most of other distros out there. I love it for itz wonderful. It makes me feel want to use computer even though i have had hectic day at work and would die to get some sleep.

\!D/ terrific! same here)
Linux sex never gets any better).
I've started my relationship with Linux this summer, having installed Ubuntu. I was so impressed with its performance on my laptop (Acer with 512 Ram and a 1.73 GHz Intel Pentium M) that i decided to wipe XP from my computer and give it away to Ubuntu Studio. A Gentoo-running friend of mine said that one goes through a number of distros before he finds the perfect one for him, so i decided to give it a go, and installed OpenSuse w/ KDE on a separate partition. The tiny fonts and Win-like menus gave me a headache ::) so i decided to switch to Zenwalk, because i've been eyeing it for a while)
I liked that everything works out of the box, and is pretty fast and customisable. The oldish ATI Radeon video card was detected in an instant, and i found some pretty themes, tried netpkg and building stuff, and so far it has workd, although I had to reinstall when sed suddenly disappeared during upgrade and I couldn't find a way to fix it. D!!
I encountered several other problems though: Iceweasel keeps resetting my saved tabs even though I have configured the options correctly. Besides, it freezes when I open the Zenwiki homepage (I found that a lot of people encountered this problem as well), up to a point when i pkill it. I have swappiness set to 0, could changing that help?
I am also looking for a comprehensive Xorg manual configuration tutorial, so that i clould backup the configuration file and carry it to any other future distros. X!!
Overall, this is a lean and pretty distro, and I'm looking forward to working with it. :)

Hi to all zenwalker,
I am using linux for the past two and half years and tried a number of distros, all with their strength and weakness. Though it is difficult to pickout a distro as best, distros have their own merit to command respect from user. In that respect I find slackware based distro simple and solid. I tried slackware, vectorlinux and today I downloaded ZW iso image and installed in to my HW and as I am used to slack and vector the installation and configuration and use of xnetpkg went like a breeze. I find ZW as a fast and simple. I hope with usage of ZW from now onwards may make me a permanent user of ZW. \!D/
