Updated! Version 6.2 > 6.2a

Improvements and bug fixes:

* Improved file container creation speed on systems having issues with write block sizes greater than 64 KB. (Windows)
* The 'Device not ready' error will no longer occur when the process of decryption of a system partition/drive is finished. (Windows)
* Other minor improvements and bug fixes. (Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux)

Package updated to truecrypt-6.2a-i486-62.2.txz. I added a code to doinst.sh to insert dm-crypt mapping removal during system reboot/shutdown, to prevent unclean unmounting during such events.

Hello,

I installed TrueCrypt 6.2a on a fresh ZW 6.2. When using either CLI or GUI I got the following well known message :
Code:
device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Argument invalide
Command failed

Looking at this thread I saw that disabling kernel cryptographic services (GUI has an option for that) would do the trick .. and it did!

But for performance reasons I would like to use them so I installed the crypto-modules-extra package but TrueCrypt fails to see it installed.
Is there anything to do in order to automatically start the crypto-modules-extra?

Thank you
Alphazo

PS: BTW, I noticed that when mounting a volume via the GUI, the path of the mounted TrueCrypt doesn't show up (blank instead of /media/truecrypt1) so the context menu to open the newly mounted drive doesn't work.

you need to install the crypto-modules-extra package to enable the XTS kernel cryptographic service. I didn't put it on the deps because if I did and you are going to install TrueCrypt on a RT kernel, it will fetch the non-RT kernel crypto modules.

As mentioned in my previous post I installed crypto-modules-extra (and even rebooted) but still TrueCrypt doesn't see it.

[EDIT] I tried again to use TrueCrypt but this time on a ZW running inside a VirtualBox machine and it worked (XTS module loaded and full path of the mounted encrypted drive in the GUI). I don't understand why it doesn't work on the real machine.

I tried to reproduce your problem. I have a 2 GB TC Ext3 virtual volume on my Zenwalk machine, I have no problems with it. I also tried creating a TC-encrypted external hard drive with FAT (anyway, it's just 5 GB so what the heck). No problems what so ever too. If you have crypto-modules-extra installed then XTS should be there. Strange...

package updated to version 6.3a! Also, i686-optimized (since it's classified as xap).

Package slightly updated, adjusted the truecrypt mappings removal during shutdown/reboot code on rc.6. Requiredbuilder is used to detect dependencies.

I'm getting this error since some days:
Code:
Failed to set up a loop device:
/tmp/.truecrypt_aux_mnt1/volume

I confirm the problem. Seems that the "loop" module is not loading automatically. I have to manually load it before I use TrueCrypt before I create volumes.

When I click right on a molunted volume and select "Open", I get this:
Code:
そのようなファイルやディレクトリはありません:
nautilus

= "No such file or directory: nautilus"

But I want to use Thunar! :(

In the settings, "System integration" tab, "Do not use kernel cryptographic modules" is checked. Should I uncheck it?

Uncheck "Open Explorer window for successful mounted volume" in Settings - Preferences so it won't find nautilus. I use Gigolo to access the mounted TC volumes :)

Uncheck "Do not use kernel cryptographic modules" if you have installed crypto-modules-extra(-rt).

It is already unchecked.

That's what I thought. Thanks.
