Box 1:

Pentium 150 MHz
80 MB RAM
8 MB SiS AGP graphics card
6 GB IBM HDD + 3 GB Seagate (seagate not currently used) both 4200 RPM
Realtek 10/100 NIC
Logitech USB mouse
52x CD-ROM
17" ViewSonic CRT
Zenwalk Core 2.2 with Kernel 2.6.15.4 Slim, Fluxbox and Opera.
This box runs very well (I'm Typing this up on it) and just does not crash unlike other OS's (Win 98). I was even able to get xcompmgr working but that was pushing it a bit far. This computer is an old Tank though and weighs about 20Kg's.

Box 2

Pentium 3 800 MHz
512 MB RAM
64 MB nVidia 4200
2 x Seagate 80 GB IDE 7200 RPM
Realtek 10/100 NIC
12x AOpen DVD ROM
connected to KVM
Zenwalk Core 2.2 with kernel 2.6.15.6 Slim, Fluxbox, Opera and Xen 3. My main testing Desktop which runs very good. It also has a dual boot gentoo install but Zenwalk just goes that little bit better and more stable.

Box 3
HP Vectra
Pentium 3 933 MHz
512 MB RAM
Intel Integraed Graphics 8 MB
20 GB Western Digital IDE 7200 RPM
2 x Realtek 10/100 NIC's
12x CD-ROM
connected to KVM
Zenwalk Core 2.2 with kernel 2.6.15.4 Slim, Fluxbox, Opera, VMware workstation with three virtual machines (Mikrotik, Zenwalk Web Server, Gentoo Web Server). This computer is my networks adsl router and uses a Mikrotik virtual machine for the network router+firewall+AC+VPN. Overall Zenwalk has provided the most stable platform I have used for VMware.

Box 4
Pentium 4 2.4GHz
1024 MB RAM
128 MB nVidia 4800 ti
3 x Seagate 80 GB IDE 7200 + 1 x Seagate 160 GB 7200 RPM
Interaget 10/100 NIC Broadcom
52 x CDRW + 16 X LG Dual Layer Burner
connected to KVM
Zenwalk Desktop 2.2 kernel 2.6.15.6 with heaps of other stuff on it. This is my studio box so it is normally booted into Windows and Cakewalk, Vegas, Acid and other bits, but I have got a daul boot on it with Zenwalk and it goes pretty hard.

Box 5
IBM eServer
1 x P3 Xeon @ 733 MHz (supports four CPU's)
1536 MB RAM ECC
onboard Savage 8 MB RAM graphics
6 x 36 GB 10,000 RPM SCSI IBM
Dual Onboard Intel Gigabit NIC's + PCI Gigabit NIC
40 x CD-ROM
HP keyboard/mouse PS/2
IBM 15" Monitor
Zenwalk Core 2.2 kernel 2.6.15.6 Apache, MySQL, PHP, Samba + other bits and pieces. I picked up this box for a bargin, Like $500 AUS. This thing weighs about 50KG's and has three power supplies that sound like jet engines so I'm not able to run this 24/7. All hardware worked out of the box with this Zenwalk setup so I was pretty impressed.

Box 6
Intel P3 450 MHz
640 MB RAM
Matrox G400 TV
20 GB Wester Digital 7200 RPM
10/100 NIC
LG 12 x DVD-ROM
A4 tech PS/2 Optical Mouse
17" ViewSonic CRT
Zenwalk Desktop 2.2 default install but with Opera and Kernel 2.6.15.6 as well. This machine is for the rest of my family to browse the web and email without having the computer lockup from a virus or a page that wanted to load Adobe Acrobat. ::) ;D

All Desktops connected to KVM with Samsung 172x LCD and Logitech MX Duo Wireless Desktop. Most of these installs are just for experimenting and fun. The production machines do run very well though and are yet to be rebooted (4 weeks and counting). ;D

Damo Lol

Been using linux for a few months now, but I'm no expert :-\ . Mainly used Gentoo before Zenwalk which was good for bleeding edge, but as you can see some of these boxes are not the most powerfull and sometimes I just want to get a program installed quickly. Zenwalk is fast, stable, very easy to install and has the easiest xorg setup I have seen (okay maybe Ubuntu is a little easier but meh), this is one of the reasons for installing it on most of my pc's.

thirddegree - hey I'm impressed  :)
I just submitted a posting to the thread "My Old Gateway / gegechris99" about maybe installing zenwalk on my old AMD K6-2 box, which I recently upgraded... ;-)
Any problems with zenwalk distro at all on the old box? Would you recommend zenwalk as opposed to say smoothwall if I'm turning the box into a gateway PC? At the moment, it's got ubuntu 5.10 on there.

TIA,
Paul
