New alpha, or beta, or RC?

After last update xfce-4.8 I still have the same problems.
Terminal does not start
Notifications does not seem correct
"Could not delete file..........
items in the trash may not be modified.
Do you want to skip it?"
trash: right click on desktop icon-empty trash does not work
screenshoter does not run from menu only as panel plugin
some plugins do not work -places-mount devices etc
google-chromium does not start (works after adding shm in fstab but when chromium start start also the keyring manager asking to create a password. I just cancel)
Num lock is present at first boot.

I have always to downgrade aspell to aspell-0.60.5
If not I can't have spellchecker in both lyx and gedit
This is very personal taste but I finish to remove Directory menu and use
straight Thunar.

maybe lyx and qedit needs rebuild...

or maybe is my italian aspell that create problems
just leave in extra pkg the old aspell for the ones who have this problem.

We have the slackware package. Maybe it is the problem
Did you have a error message when you launch gedit in a console ?

I'm running a snapshot whitout xfce-plugins. And I do not note any difference.
The plugins that work are working and so the ones who don't work.
Screenshoter as plugin works.

Can you try to do logout -> login and just after look in your .xsession-errors ?

aspell I went back to the old pkg
If before installing iso-codes I had as language
unknown (tr)
now I have Turkish
and still unable to open as root from terminal.

Maybe, as I build iso picking up pkgs from /var/pkg there is some problem of proprieties. As soon there is a beta I will try again.

If I log out and I log in as root I can start gedit (also lyx) both from menu
and terminal.
There is also another problem in root=gui
If I click home icon thunar opens in root folder.
If I use panel/directory menu/open folder thunar open my home folder.

xfce4 notifications settings does not start.
If you in control panel/privilege granting switch from su to sudo
both zendo and xnetpkg cannot be lunch from menu, only using terminal.
Now I installed glitz and I will see if there is any difference.
It's snowing and I don't know when I will be back.

Your sudo error means, your user is not in /etc/sudoers file, or does not have enough privileges granted in it.
Can be fixed using command visudo as root.

Your second, su related issue is not su related issue, but xorg authentication.
As user in a terminal window run command "xhost +". (Or "xhost +localhost" if you want to be strict.)
That means, any client from anywhere can connect to X.
Switch to user root by command su.
(Or "su -", but in this case you supposed to set DISPLAY variable, because env. settings are overwritten.)
Then start gedit. It should run as root.
