I see we now have mcelog listed in our services...isn't that for 64 bit systems only?

The icon that appears in the new folder dialog in thunar seems to be missing.

In the settings manager, under appearance, there are 2 identical Zen themes.

Also, clicking Applications -> System -> Default Printer gives the error:
Code:
Failed to execute child process "my-default-printer" (No such file or directory)

This is a obsolet command i will be remove it, in the new package.

thanks for the report.

The oprofile package is not compatible with the ZW kernel.
Code:
/usr/bin//opcontrol return 1
Failed:
FATAL: Module oprofile not found.
FATAL: Module oprofile not found.
Kernel doesn't support oprofile

Command was :

/usr/bin//opcontrol --init

Either kernel must be recompiled with profiling support or oprofile should be removed from the repo (or at the very least the package description needs a warning about this.)

The kernel provided in Zenwalk is a production kernel, optimized for performance, code profiling has never been an intended feature, so yes : we could provide a specific kernel package for this.

Contributions are welcome :)

Will we still use open office for this release? Or will libre office be on the iso?

Maybe a noob question.

What does it mean. I didn't find any transparency option in the panel preferences.
I didn't look for in the config files, I tried it in GUI only.

You have to activate the compositor , run videoconfig :)

Another thing, I don't remember the installer ask for the system language. Just for the keyboard layout. Perhaps I missed it.

You missed it :)

Not sure if this belongs here or the problems forum but since this only occurs in the 7.0 beta I figured I'd post here:

Custom starters that are created on the desktop are not shown with their own icons. Instead some default icon is used. Also the trash can is always displayed with the full icon even though it is empty.

Yes, these are part of the XFCE 4.8 "official" bugs :)

For you beta testers: how is the open source ati driver? radeon i think it's called. Still slow or is it faster now with this version of zenwalk? With Zenwalk 6.2 I felt compelled to use the proprietary driver, but I would like to use open source one when it's fast enough.

I did not test them extensively but as far as I could tell they weren't any better/worse than previous versions.

Have you looked at Alien Bob's SlackBuild? I'm running that on Slackware64-13.1 without issues.

Later on,
Scott
