This is my first encounter with Zenwalk (7.0) and so far I'm impressed but am having problems setting up the sound system.
When I insert a CD it loads and plays automatically via CD Player however none of the other applications that i have installed that require sound ie Streamtuner work.
Any ideas where I should look to find out what's going on.

One thing I do know is that you have to set up the ALSA sound system with the alsa command.

# alsa

and it sets itself up
or # alsa -h

to find out more about alsa

something like that.

if the cd plays,means that you have sound, means that alsa is already configure.
Whit mixer did you select controls?
Did you install codecs?

Install also Soundconverter whit all the deps
Maybe just need the right codec to play
