I have a DWL-G650+, I have load Dlink xp drivers by Ndiswrapper, Wi-Cd see the wlan and can scan the avalaible wi-fi lan but I have a problem when I try to connect on WEP or WPA a.p. !

When I set my a.p. without key can I surf on internet but if I set a simple WEP or WPA key, for example 12345, Wi-Cd can't connect !

My router is a Draytek Vigor 2710; the same notebook by using Debian Lenny, Ndiswrapper and Network Manager on Kde 3.5.x work with WPA !

Why ? The problem is Wi-cd ? The pcmcia ? I need to buy other pcmcia 100% compatile with Linux as 3CRWE73796B ?

remove driver Ndiswrapper
go to
http://zen-repo.meticul.eu/i486/current/patches/
and install
brcm80211-2.6.37.4-i486-70.1.txz
and reboot

I removed the windows driver from Ndiswrapper and after from 7.0 repository:
# netpkg brcm80211-2.6.37.4-i486-70.1.txz

After the reboot the pcmcia led link is power off, I don't know if I need to load a module or other program to power on...

I have a D-link Air Plus dwl- G650 (AirPlusXtremeG)
on my old computer and works without any further configuration.
If is the same pcmcia card it should work.
When they build the kernel they forgot to include and they did a patch and
an updated kernel.
Check in control panel/kernel modules
or run
lsmod to see what modules are you using

I'm sorry, I pull out my old computer and I found that works whit Atheros

Anyway it works out of the box. No need ndiswrapper.
After installing the driver whit ndiswrapper did you use "configure network"?
Did you use ndiswrapper because you are accustomed to use it?

thanks for your post, I have a DWL-G650+ and it is different from DWL-G650, on Dlink support area I can download different windows driver.

On Debian I have try http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/a ... evice_list but the card doesn't work (power led is power on but can't connect on the ap).

On Debian Lenny my card work by using Ndiswrapper and Network Manager but on Zenwalk I don't know how to solve the problem...

After Ndiswrapper load driver I use Wi-Cd, here I can see the ap but I can connect only without WEP or WPA but if I use a Key (on my ap I have insert an easy key as 87654321) the card can't connect.

If the problem is wicd, if you did not update your system update, there is a new version of wicd. if still not work try to install
network manager and Netw-manag-applet

I have try a WPC54G by using brcm80211-2.6.37.4-i486-70.1.txz (from repository 7.0) and I have find the same problem as DWL-G650+, on free ap work on wpa key no.

I have change on Wi-Cd, Advanced Settings, Driver, wext and by this setting WPC54G work, I will try the DWL-G650+ on ndiswrapper and after wext setting, for me the problem was only wext, sorry but I hadn't think this...
