problem with Skype (Zen 7.0)

Hi

when I want to test the camera (uvcvideo driver) by using Skype I had this message :
/usr/bin/skype: line 2: 861 Erreur de segmentation
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so /usr/libexec/skype "$@"

have you an explanation ? Thanks ...

Hy abourgeo,

I had to tinker with Skype and an old camera some time ago. Older webcams need these special parameters to get them to work with skype. Include the command as a starter command for your icon as mentioned in this thread on the PCLOS forum. I believe you will find all information necessary to start skype using your webcam properly.

VLC is using V4l2 (video for Linux 2) and it works l!!!

so I modified the script which launch Skype :
cat /usr/bin/skype
#!/bin/bash
#### LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so /usr/libexec/skype "$@"
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l2.so /usr/libexec/skype "$@"

The default message disappeared but always no webcam !!! >:( :'(

Try to install cheese whit all the deps and see if it works.
If it works probably also skype will start working, if not probably is a driver problem.

Did you try to see if with gstreamer-properties, your webcam is detected ?
