I had this error message when I wanted to use the camera with Skype :
/usr/bin/skype: line 2: 2157 Erreur de segmentation LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so /usr/libexec/skype "$@"
however the camera work well with VLC !?!

The skype package :
# ls /var/log/packages/ | grep skype

The camera driver :
# lsmod | grep gspca

The camera ID :

The zenwalk version :

7.0

It is for snapshot but it should work on current.

this new package is for the "Zenwalk 7.2" and changes a lot of libraries + gcc. Are you sure it's possible to install this package without damage ?

You can try. The skype package is not compiled, it is just a binary file put in the right place with zenwalk rules.
You just have to download the file and tape in root mode :


Not upgrade the package with netpkg pointing in snapshot

You can try to download direct from skype
"skype dynamic"
extract the tar and see if it works direct from the folder

it works with "upgradepkg" and "skype 4.0"

Thanks bipbip. You let me know this package with that new version of skype and with your advice I upgraded skype to version 4.0 inside Zenwalk 7.0 smoothly. It works perfectly.
