Hi guys ;D

I built OOo2 2.0.4, you can get it here:

The problem OOo2 had with opening documents with names containing spaces has been fixed. A major cleanup of the ZenBuild has been done too :).

You beat me to a question -- I had seen the announcement that 2.0.4 was available and was wondering what I might expect (given that I am new to Z) in terms of time before it was available...

I downloaded it from your link above, removed the 2.0.3 package (via pkgtool), and installed the new one via installpkg. It appears to at least install without any problems...

(Yeah, I know -- I could have just upgraded, but I tend to like to remove and install "clean" most of the time.)

I am operating from memory here (which I know is kind of iffy at times), but it seems like something is different with how the file associations are set up with the new version of OOo. If I am remembering correctly, with 2.0.3 installed from the repositories, I could right click on a .xls file in Nautilus (I am running GNOME), and by default it would open it with Gnumeric but it would also list OOo Calc as an option to open the file. That is no longer the case after moving to the OOo 2.0.4 package you provided.

Is that something unique to my system, or perhaps a function of the way I removed 2.0.3 and then installed 2.0.4?

Update: I removed OOo 2.0.4, reinstalled 2.0.3, and then upgraded to 2.0.4 with upgradepkg, and I now have the additional entry on the Nautilus right-click menu for the .xls files. That would seem to indicate that there is indeed something different about how the two packages get installed.

It isn't a big deal, but it is something different between the two packages.

No problem here with xfce/Thunar... a matter of mime types, but since I'm no Nautilus/Gnome user, I don't want to bring you an unappropriate piece of advice ;)

I've just upgraded OOo to 2.0.4, but in the help > about menu in OOo I see 2.0.3  :-\
Something wrong for me ?

Check in /var/log/packages what file is there for OOo2.

Strange, very strange !
Remove it with netpkg GUI, maybe you have more than one OOo, did you notice the package name which was upgraded:
"openoffice-2.0.3-i586-1z30-upgraded-2006-10-17,19:08:33."
