just ran dmesg

the very last lines shows:

ath_pci: version magic '2.6.17 SMP preempt mod_unload 486 gcc-3.4' should be '2.6.17.11 SMP preempt mod_unload 486 gcc-3.4'

anyone care to translate?

Go here and pick your card using the two drop down boxes.  Then on the resulting screen figure out what revision you have.  If you have A or B then madwifi won't work.  MadWifi Revision Info.  Let me know what you find out and then let us go from there.

Your response sounds like things are working.  Are things working?

Did you compile the module padma? Did you install it? Did you run depmod -a after that?

This indicates that madwifi is not the correct version for your kernel. Go to http://www.madwifi.org and try the instructions for building madwifi on slackware. not too hard to do.

MadWifi will not be included in zenwalk, because it is partially "closed-source", someone told me...
