There's no link on any of the Wiki pages to Recent Changes that I can see.

As someone who has been a heavy wiki user/editor on many other wikis not having Recent Changes readily available is very uncomfortable.

Sometimes I get the impression some people are just too lazy and wait till the answers are handed to them on a platter in stead of taking some initiative themselves.

Forum posts are by definition dated information. If somebody posts a link and later that information gets moved, almost nobody gets back to all the old posts to correct them. On the other hand you have resources like the Zenwalk home page and Google which are kept up to date. Have a look there.
