I know this is asking too much, but I feel divided because I can't use the great packages from sites such as slacky.it or linuxpackages that were made to be on /opt/kde instead of /usr. Programs such as Krusader, Amarok, KmyMoney, etc. are real nice, so if we had the same directories we could share work...
At the moment I'm using KDE packages from Slackware but this is not the ideal thing for most of the users.

Prfaasse's KDE packages will be back up in the repo asap I'm sure.  :D  I've got some other packages I've built myself I can share.  I'll post a link in contrib packages once I put them up.

Some kde/qt type packages and dependencies I use.  These are all personal packages, I'm not promising they won't blow your computer to 1024 pieces and run off with your wife.  Use at your own risk;  :D

They work for me.  My system is zenalk core + sefl built qt 3.3.5 and kde 3.5.1 with several core packages removed and others rebuilt.  If I'm missing a needed dependency of one of the packages let me know and I'll upload it as well.  Depending on time and motivation I'll work on some other passible qt apps feel free to request, but no guarantees.

They all run with prefix=/usr

Thanks a lot!! If you could post this dependency of amarok, I would thank you again ;) - libtunepimp

Regarding KDE, I've just changed to Zenwalk base KDE, and I lost every functionallity I had; but the worst is kwallet... so long automatic remenbering of passwords  :(
Compiling it all may take more than 2 days on this old AMD 1000...

Sorry for not showing up the whole day ;-) ZenWalk KDE is indeed /usr based. It comes in two flavours:

1) minimal KDE: ZenWalk is? 'minimal' system, so we offer a KDE that 'fits'
2) full KDE: for those that are very sure they want the complete 'bloated' KDE.

I had the minimal and full versions of both 3.5.1 and 3.5.0 on repository before our server crash; minimal 3.5.0 is back, the rest was in the 'people/prfaasse' directory: 3.5.0 and 3.5.1 have a annoying bug (kicker crashes on logout... sometimes, the kde-guys are hunting that bug) and my qt-3.3.5 package was 'somewhat tested'. The good news is that i still have all packages and i'm waiting for the 'people' part of the repository to come on-line so i can make them available again... I think kwallet was in kdenetwork?

That would be great! Thank you all!
The upcoming KDE 4 will be something real neat as far as I know... So I hope some of us can help maintaining KDE as part of Zenwalk.

prfaasse: I think I saw your directory before, but I had no time before the crash to test them.

KDE packages: Due to what i see of the current repository's functionality i'm afraid i have no chance to put them back 'up' at the moment: the repository.zenwalk.org/people directory did have facilities to upload packages (sftp), but i've yet been unable to upload anything. Rest assured that -if the facility re-appears- i'll upload the kde-3.5.0 and 3.5.1 packages i have ready here.

In the mean time, i'm doing some preliminary experiments with qt-4.1.1 to prepare for kde-4 package-building. I'm as curious as the next guy to see what KDE-4 will look like ;-)

KDE has always been 'second-class' in ZenWalk: the main window manager is xfce, which fits nicely with ZenWalk's main goal (small & fast). Within the ZenWalk project, i've been able to provide some KDE support for those that prefer KDE. Infrastructure willing, i have no plans to change that, unless Uncle_Steve beats me to it ;-) Uncle_Steve's k3b: good show: i also have it compiled & packaged here, but *only* here... Are you going to build a 'shadow' repository?

Hah, "shadow repository"?? Nay.? I'm just sharing some personal packages while your official packages are down.? My kdelibs/base/etc are built more to my specs than I should probably share.? I'll just toss out some extras for people looking for them and leave the main KDE packages to you.

[me=Uncle Steve]shakes his magic 8 ball[/me]

[signs point to a fully functional repo soon]

jp, alias hyperion hinted at 'perhaps this weekend'. We'll have to find a new hosting (hope i express this right..) first...
