yes its possible
please not you will need Terminal and exo
you can also run thunar if compiled from sources
please not that thunar requires the devel-version of exo
another option is to use rox as file-manager

looking at the xffm sourceforge page, it seams to me that,
xffm has a samba-control plugin...

so would that mean that  if i install  ZW2.4 (with that xffm + plugin) my install would be cross-windows-network enabled??

You can install xffm, then tell me what you think about it (I spent a part of the afternoon installing it today. Now it's uninstalled...).

Or just do "netpkg linneighborhood", and you've got a small yet efficient smb browser ;)

so im burning the zw 2.4 iso atm...
and am wondering...

i looked (from my webwebrowser), at the repository and didn't find xffm (yet), but did find LinNeigborhood,

so
q.1 > you said you installed xffm (is it in repos or do i have to dll a slack package of install from source...
q.1.b > or is it better to just use LinNeighborhood instead..

q.2. i also saw a wireless package, (but will not ask for howto's before i tried myself though),
but my question is rather, that  as soon as i managed to figure out how this works... wil i be able (if not to hard) to create my custom package set on a cd  (removing those i want replaced, with those i want...

i heard that  the installer was some soort of script that just scans for the  L and Xapp  folders and installes al packages inside,  (if this is true, than could i just  copy all files from this disk to a new disk and  with my fav  write copy its bootsector to get my  custom  zenwalk cd....

Code:
q.1 > you said you installed xffm (is it in repos or do i have to dll a slack package of install from source...

Yes, I installed it from source : it's still buggy and doesn't use the system's icon set, I won't build a package, that's not worth it.

Code:
q.1.b > or is it better to just use LinNeighborhood instead..

Yes LinNeighborhood (silly name btw) has much more features than Xffm for browsing shares, and will launch Thunar in the smb mounted directory by default.

Code:
q.2. i also saw a wireless package, (but will not ask for howto's before i tried myself though),

You should install wifi-radar, as long as your nic is started by the kernel or ndiswrapper, wifi-radar will allow you to browse wifi networks and connect to the chosen one.

Use lsmod to check if there are any drivers loaded for the wired NIC. As for the wlan NIC, you need to know what device it uses (there are only a few wlan chips out there).
