 Post subject: Terminal doesn't work.

Hey people, I try to install madwifi but the Terminal doesnt even work.

I opened terminal an type commands like lspci, cd, but it does nothing.

Have you tried as root:

#lspci


This command is for root only.

But cd is for for usual mortal ....  hmmm

I don't thik it is Terminals fault, but you can try xterm.
You have to give us more information what you did and how you did...
...If problems persist

Sorry for not giving enough details.

I clicked on the terminal and it starts, but every command I typed it does nothing. I used the Terminal that's on the dock.

How can I use Xterm ?

Some commands need to be run as root. lspci is one of them. For cd, you have to give a directory to cd into. For example:
cd /etc
cd /usr
cd /home/your_user_name_here

Try each one of those (as normal user), then type pwd to tell you the directory you are in. For each one it should return the name of the directory you cd'ed into. The madwifi driver will need to be installed as root. For a tutorial on that:

Thanks guys! I got my wi-fi working now.
