I would like to know if someone runs a sky map soft on Zenwalk.
I've try Skychart, but I'm unable to make it run :(.
Too many problems with libs...

Thanks,
Crocus

Yes, it works, it's a nice soft, but i can't manage my telescope with it. I use stellarium for simple tasks.
With a soft like Skychart, I will be able to point a star or a nebulla on my pc's screen, and the scope will point it in the sky  :o
btw, there is no updates about new astronomical objects, satellites, comets...

wow, sounds great. i had a quick look into the source. it seems to require a lot of things that haven't been build for zenwalk yet, like lazarus and freepascal.  :-\

sure...

but even with the binary, I have a lot of problems with libs. I've tried to create symlinks, but no good result :(
I saw a .deb package, but I don't want to install debian etch or any ubuntu  ;)

A reply to myself :

kstars does the job  \!D/ but it's a KDE app, and is not my prefered GUI...

I find a xephem package on this italian repository site. It works like a charm ;D

So, once again, Zenwalk has satisfied my needs.  I will soon try to manage my telescope with them....
