Downloading now to test on my t60 laptop. Are the 3945 drivers integrated yet, or do I need to download the package I saw listed in the forum?

Looks like the included iwl3945 kernel module (I loaded the module from the Kernel Module control) and the iwlwifi combo included in 5.0 RC1 doesn't work very well.  :(
After installing I noticed that WICD didn't show my wireless device. I checked in WICD "preferences" and it had my wireless device listed as "none." So I entered wlan0 and rebooted.
After rebooting, and bringing WICD up again, my WPA wireless network was visible but I noticed that there seemed to be a delay after clicking on the WICD options to configure it. WICD kept acting sluggish and delaying but finally connected, but to a random IP address that isn't even in my subnet (my subnet is 192.168.0.0 but it was connecting to 169.254.42.x.
Funny thing is, I had this same issue with 4.8 and Wifi Radar (never resolved). My Ibm subnotebook (uses a ipw2200) works fine with Zenwalk 5RC1.
Anyway... just wanted to give the devs an FYI about the 3945 bugs in 5RC1

Found the thread that mentions a possible fix for this issue. Looks like an option change to the router may be needed needed.

I'll have to pass on this since all my other linux laptops work fine without making any other router changes. But maybe this will assist someone else that wants to really get Zenwalk to work with a 3945 card.

Good luck,

Antman

My 3945 card works good with this unofficial package.

I'll try it out, thanks.

Yes, this package works.  \!D/

I guess this should be the default package for 3945 in the final release.

Thanks,

Antman

Unfortunately I don't think we could put that in the iso. I believe there are licensing/distribution problems with it. I'll take a closer look at the licenses tonight though just to be certain.
