I'm just gonna use this thread to post all my pictures that I release. Comments are welcome.

Here is a wall that I made, but it is definitely not done yet. I still need to tone it down a little and maybe add the Zenwalk logo. If anybody has seggestions on how I should do that, please tell me. ;D

I think on the right corner is the best place to place the logo. If you need zenwalk's mascot, you can use the one found here in your computer:

/usr/share/icons/Tango/scalable/apps/zenwalk.svg

Somewhere in the forum is a link to the font used for the logo, but I can't remember the exact posting anymore.

It looks nice, a little too bright maybe.
An Orton filter will work wonders on it IMO.

zenwalk logo svg: http://download.zenwalk.org/people/fred ... lklogo.svg
zenwalk mascot: http://download.zenwalk.org/people/fred ... bublle.png
zenwalk logo font: http://download.zenwalk.org/people/fred ... aphism.ttf

BTW, This is a way to install Terragen on zenwalk with Wine:
1) install wine with netpkg
2) download terragen: http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/wi ... dwin.shtml
and save it in your $HOME/.wine/drive_c directory.
3) run the installer (accept the defaults)
4) download msvcirt.dll, msvcrt20.dll, msvcrt40.dll, msvcrtd.dll from http://www.dll-files.com/
5) put the dll's in your WINE's system32 directory.
6) run wincfg to make sure the dll's are there (libraries tab/combobox "New override for library" )
7) run wine "c:\Program Files\Terragen\terragen.exe"

Happy Terragening !

Cheers,
Fred :)

One small addition...
To install terragen I had to browse to /home/USERNAME/.wine/drive_c/ and then run:
Code:
msiexec /i tginstall0943.msi

Then it showed up in the Xfce menu in "Other" 8)

Ok, thanks everybody, I'll try some of this out and post my result as soon as I have time.

After MANY changes and alot of experimenting and comparing, I finally came up with two versions that I am pretty happy with.

Image
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg173/HER0_01/Zenwalk/ZenRising.jpg
http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3268/zenrisingax4.bmp
This first one has an Orton filter applied to it, along with other effects to enhance its coolness factor and make it look less computer generated.

Image
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg173/HER0_01/Zenwalk/MosaicWL.jpg
http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/7966/mosaicwlun3.png
Second one takes a different path and has a mosaic look to it that is kinda toned down, then it adds the huge "Zenwalk Rising" crome text in the middle.

Tell me what you think.

Welcome to the Orton lovers! ;D
I like them both, but probably the first one a little better! \!D/

Yea, the first one probably looks better but the other one is good for people that don't like the blurring or the brightness.
Any other comments/seggestions are welcome.

I was trying to make a dark wallpaper, one that would go good with dark themes. Obviously it turned out real dark...
Tell me what you think.

I actually like the dark theme. It has a minimalist "less is more" feel to it.
Good job, and thanks for your help in my other thread!

This should be in the wiki!
Also; when I try to run Terragen (in emulated desktop or not) it just opens and crashes. Could it be the nVidia driver? (I disabled hardware for graphics and it did the same thing.) There are no messages in log.

@ Sigg3.net:
I use the Nvidia drivers and everything works fine. So its not that...

@ furrito:
Thank you. And regarding your thread, I am always glad to help.

Actually, I think I prefer your original to the modified ones, but the first idea that came to my mind after reading your opening post was to put the Zenwalk logo in front of the sun, maybe faded to the point of just being visible--maybe not (if I were doing it, I'd have to play with it and see which way looked better), and then have it cast a rippled shadow on to the water. :)

Ok, maybe Ill try and experiment with it. Thanks for the comments.
