I have install Zenwalk 7 on my Toshiba S2800-600 and work fine and I am happy but now I need to use Skype and aMsn for this reason I have download the programs (http://is.gd/6QUzyE (skype)
http://is.gd/4t3hZG (amsn)), after I have install by installpkg name_packet.tgz.

I have see on the screen the right result but if I clic on the program, Skype or aMsn, don't starts as user and root !

I think the reason is the "require packet" for Skype they are "alsa-lib, e2fsprogs, expat, fontconfig, freetype, gcc, gcc-g++, glib2, libICE, libSM, libX11, libXScrnSaver, libXau, libXdmcp, libXext, libXrender, libXv, libpng, v4l-utils, libxcb, qt, zlib" but there is a possibility to install all as Debian ?

open terminal and as root do
Code:
removepkg skype amsn

then
Code:
netpkg mirror

and choose some 7.0 repository
then
Code:
netpkg skype amsn

and choose to install all deps too.

I'm using Skype's static build and it runs just fine, even the webcam (Suyin on Acer 4720z) works which I can't get it to work correctly with cheese.

try running skype from a terminal.
What errors do you get?
Perhaps that will indicate the source of your difficulty.

When I try on the desktop as user or root I haven't error page but if I use a root console I have:

root[~]# skype
/usr/libexec/skype: error while loading shared libraries: libQtDBus.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
root[~]#

libQtDBus is part of the package qt
Did you install the dependencies when you installed skype?
If you installed using netpkg as suggested by stillborn, netpkg will offer to install them for you.

As a side point, skype doesn't need to be run by root.

I have manually download packets:

glib2-2.28.6-i486-1.txz
skype-2.1.0.81-i686-64.1.txz
qt-4.7.0_7abde40-i486-2.txz

After I have install by pkgtool and now skype work well ! :)

There are frozen problems, imho, on the mirrors, after download start I see the speed but after few minutes I see the speed "--" for this reason I have damaged packets because I need to stop by typing "ctrl+c" !

When I use Icecat to download the packet I have the same problem than netpkg but on the web browser I can clic pause and restart download, by this way I can "broke" the freeze download and restart it !
