Re: Zenwalk 6.2 roadmap

There was some mount option to be set in fstab to prevent the data loss (which the 2.6.30 patches would make redundant) until the newer code gets used. I agree with P2000 btw - not meaning to spread FUD but imho sticking to tried and true file systems like good ole ext3 is the way to go. I think it ...

Re: New user registration is now blocked!

I'm sure you know this is a major hurdle to take for new users :). Isn't there a way the registration process can be made more spam-resistent?

Code: Select all

vi /etc/zenwalk-version

Voilà ;D

Seriously, I think the zenwalk-version file is in aaa-base, if I'm not mistaken. And you shouldn't touch that, so just h4xx0r away :P.

Re: SD reader kernel module not loaded automagicly

What card reader do you have? Some Ricoh crap by any chance (like me)? Those need the mmc_block driver to be actually functional on Linux :P.

Pathetic...

How come this got registered though? A subdomain of zenwalk.org, I suppose this has been approved by the team?

Re: Zenwalk 5.0 is here !

Ya Borromini, forgot about security fixes as well. But i think we can generalize the Security fixes as one of bug fixing task right? Well, I hate to be a nitpicker . A security fix is a bug fix of course, but what makes it worse is it can be exploited . So it's no harmless bug . Vulnerabilities in ...

Not only bug fixes, also security fixes (you can just check the kernel changelogs for CVE). I'm sure you'll find some ;).

Re: Zenwalk 4.6.1 - maintenance release

Thanks Jp... So still we have to follow Snapshot for toolchain doc before upgrading right  As well is it safe to go for an upgrade I hate to break my system and re-install once again....  I successfully walked someone through it without any docs, so yes, you can upgrade . Remember: glibc ...

Re: Please save Pidgin

Zenwalkuser, Zenwalk/Slack are some of the cleanest projects out there when it comes to packages. Both distros use very few patches, other distros live & die by them ;).

So if anyone should modify a program's source code to get it to work on his OS, it shouldn't be Zenwalk or Slackware.

Re: Do you want to take the red pill ?

zenwalk-main+subscribe@lists.zenwalk.org is the correct one afaik.

I have yet to see the info on the ML being publicly available too, I don't know how to read them online either :).
