Re: Zenwalk Openbox 6.4 is here!

There are some window managers that are even lighter, but might as well choose the best one i.e. Openbox(middle-weight), which still opens almost instantly. I don't know if this Zenwalk release includes extra fluff like panels and trays etc., but by default then Openbox, just is an empty desktop wit...

Re: Zenwalk Openbox 6.4 is here!

Hey, man, that's a brilliant idea/addition to the Zenwalk line! Stand-alone Openbox rocks, without the bloat and resources used by a full-blown DE!

Great job! I'm sure this will apeal to many Zenwalk users out there!

Regards, Martin.

Re: Zenwalk 6.4 BETA is ready for testing !

yes, antman, VLC ought to be included in ANY modern distro, for the same reason that any automobile at a rental shop ought to include automatic transmission. What ought to be included in any distro, is what the distro/OS maker deems appropriate for his choosen design! If you cannot find any distro/...

[...] If VLC is not an integral component of this release, then, in my opinion the forthcoming version will serve as just another coaster, joining the likes of Slitaz, Salix, Slax, and Absolute. Please educate yourself alittle before posting! Zenwalk is GTK based(in ISO), and VLC is written using Q...

Re: Zenwalk Core 6.2 is ready !

To install xfce in a root-terminal: netpkg xfce First though, I would recommend to update netpkg, and thereafter the whole system so in all: netpkg netpkg netpkg upgrade netpkg xfce You are asked for a mirror upon first netpkg run, so choose either a current(stable) or snapshot(testing) mirror. If y...

Re: Zenwalk 6.4 BETA is ready for testing !

OK, i've just retested by wiping my hdd completelly and then installed Zenwalk v6.2 and v6.4b after eachother and both with the 'AUTOINSTALL' feature and again the result is that the 'AUTOINSTALL' feature dosen't format the partitions as I have e.g. in the application-menu both entries for OO.o v3.1...

Re: Zenwalk 6.4 BETA is ready for testing !

I'm pretty sure there's an issue with the 'Autoinstall' feature of the installer, but before I go test it further to report a detailed bug-report, then am I right in that the 'Autoinstall' feature should work right no matter if having a previously installed Zenwalk install installed... When I get a ...
